Numerology - Favourable House Number

Numerology - Favourable House Number

The Affinity Principle :

In choosing the number of the house we live in, we should choose a number which has affinity with our birth date.

A Number 4 man should not live in a number 8 house or a house which bears a number in the same series such as 8, 17, 26, 35, 44,53, etc. Nor should a Number 8 man live in a number 4 house or a house which bears a number in the same series such as 4, 13, 22, 31, 40, 49, 58 and so on.

The City Names: Applying the Affinity Principle

We can also apply numerology to towns and cities. The numerical value of the town can be calculated by adding the numbers pertaining to the letters which constitute the name of the city.

Suppose Tej Singh wants to know whether Alwar, Delhi or New Delhi would suit him for commencing a new business. We would first find out the numerical values of these cities.

A L W A R = 1 + 3 + 6 + 1 + 2 = 13

D E L H I = 4 + 5 + 3 + 5 + 1 = 18

N E W D E L H I = 5 + 5 + 6 + 4 + 5 + 3 + 5 + 1 = 34

Here, we find that the numerical value of Delhi, i.e. 18, is in harmony with the numerical value of his name which we have worked out earlier. 18 (the numerical value of Delhi) is also in harmony with his birth date 18.

Thus we have provided some guidelines for choosing suitable names; we can use this knowledge and, accordingly, change, amend, or drop the spelling, or add a letter to the name of our spouse.

Featured - Akshaya Tritiya

Featured - Akshaya Tritiya

Candana yatra starts on this day, which is celebrated as well as the day on which treta yuga began. Barley, one of the main ingredients for homa, which is the yuga dharma of Treta Yuga, was also created on this day. Ganga devi also descended to earth on this day. Many common people have special puja on this day. One should bathe in a sacred river, give charity, perform japa and offer barley in a sacred fire, and offer barley preparations to the deity.

Akshaya Tritiya day is the very auspicious day - there's no inauspiciousness to be found today so even checking muhurthas is considered unnecessary, so auspicious it is. Whatever one does for devotees, and for Krsna that person will get more benefit and it is eternal benefit and never lost.
He said one story of a brahmana: there was a brahmana who had a very good wife and was poor. Whatever little money he got would get spent somehow. Also he did not have children. So under the strong request of his wife he went to Vasishta muni to know the reason for his suffering. Vasishta muni told him that in his previous life he was very rich and also had many children. But he was very stingy, he was not even spending for his own children. This is the reason for his being poor, also without children. Then that brahmana asked Vasishta muni why he got a good wife. So that Muni replied that somehow with some reason, he observed that the vrata of Vaishaka month for the last 5 days. So he got a good wife and also the brahmana birth. Then the muni advised him to follow at least the last 7 days left of Vaishaka month, with devotion to Lord Krsna.

Since that brahmana observed the vrata of Vaishaka month for that at least the left out 7 days, he got sons, he became rich, ultimately he got Love of Godhead and went back to the spiritual world!

It is important to hear such a story/pastimes as this so that at least by hearing this, we engage ourselves in the service of Guru, the Vaishnavas and Krsna. Thus becoming inspired to always render service the devotee is always the beneficiary of such interaction with the Vaishnavas, one's Guru and Lord Sri Krishna.

Akshaya tritiiyaa: (from the Calendar of the Madhwa Vaishnavas)
The third day in the bright fortnight of vaishaakha is the day of the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as Parashurama. The icon is decorated with an axe, to depict Him in a heroic pose.

This coincides with the anniversary of passing of Sri Vijayadhvaja Tiirtha, the sixth piiThaadhipati in the lineage of Sri Pejawar Mutt. He is famous for his commentary upon the Srimad Bhaagavata epic. He lived in the 15th century and his vrindavana (samadhi) is in Kanva Tiirtha. There is also a pipal tree by the side of the vrindavana under which he is believed to have written his commentary.

During the tenure of Sri Pejawar MaTha a special festival is arranged in Sri Krishna Mutt on this day and the akshaya paatra given by Sri Madhva is offered a special puuja. This akshaya patra is said to have been given by the Sun god, it is the same pot that mother Draupadi used to cook in. It is said that from the time of turning it upwards for use on a day the pot will provide unlimited amounts of foodstuffs for the satisfaction of the Lord. There is a story in this connection wherein the angry sage Durvasas came to Draupadi demanding foods:

Featured - Major Astrology Events in May 2008

Venus trines Pluto on May 1st, 2008; Venus trines Saturn on May 2nd 2008

This is a perfect period for analyzing financial strategies and to churn your portfolio. Launching new publicity campaigns/ advertisement campaigns, meeting influential persons to seek their support for your projects, ending troublesome relationships and establishing new relationships on a fresh and optimistic note, and remodeling/ redecorating your office space/ home are some activities that are highly auspicious during this time-window that extends till May 7th, 2008.

Saturn turns direct on May 3rd, 2008 in the 8th degree of sidereal Leo sign.; Mercury quincunxes Pluto and squares Saturn on the same day.

This degrees is symbolized as “An aureole of clouds in the midst of which appears a triangle of flame; an eye appears within the triangle.”

Intuitive urges are likely to be high during this period. You should follow your hunches and heed your inner voices during this period without any doubt. You are not likely to be at your logical best now, but intuition and hunches will compensate for that. A child born during this period will be blessed with exalted psychic potential, spiritual faculties, and with a mind that is just, aspiring, and noble. Parents should nurture the spiritual tendency of the child and channel it along noble causes and traditions (if left unchecked, these psychic tendencies might degrade into an unnecessary obsession with the dark arts of occult! So, parents of these children have a great responsibility).

Mercury quintiles Uranus, and Venus quintiles Neptune on May 5th, 2008

This is a perfect period for tabling your innovative schemes before influential persons in an effort to win their approval. Be alert and keep your eyes and ears open for tips regarding your current activities, as suggestions from the most unlikely of sources will prove lucrative during this period. If conventional methods have failed to elicit the desired response, it is time to switch over to more dynamic plans and strategies. This is a perfect period for mystic research, beginning creative ventures like beginning shooting of a film, writing novels, penning poems, drawing, sculpting, designing, etc.

Mercury sesquiquadrates Jupiter on May 7th, 2008

Avoid over-ambitious ventures for the time-being. Handle legal and corporate matters with more finesse and tact, while at the same time taking care not to give in to the pressure tactics of your opponents or other negotiators. When in doubt, always fall back on tried and tested tactics. Avoid taking unnecessary risks in business. Students should avoid distractions and focus harder on their lessons.

Jupiter turns regrograde on May 9th, 2008 in the 29th degree of Sagittarius

This degree is symbolized as “A Hare.” This is the symbol of a mind that is both cultured and timid, yet possessed of considerable moral force , and remarkable physical energy and agility.

There is danger of misuse of faculties which may drive oneself into dangerous paths and ultimate self-destruction. You should think twice before doing anything during this period. Accidents are likely to be more common now; so abundant caution should be exercised if you happen to be driving vehicles during this period of Jupiter retrograde (which extends for quite some time in the near future). Children born under such retrograde Jupiter (especially with this degree significance) should be taught the importance of self-discipline and orderly though processes because otherwise, they may lose their way due to the innate conflicts of their nature. On the one hand, they will be too straight-forward and have great sense of conviction; on the other hand, they may lack the drive to assert themselves in the face of opposing circumstances, and may prefer to take the line of least resistance. It is important to train these children in practical tasks and in the technique of gentle assertion which will help them to be successful adults in the future.

Venus sextiles Uranus and trines Jupiter on May 18th, 2008

Romance can bloom in the most unlikely of circumstances during this period. If you are a savvy investor, quick buying or selling of stocks for profit is possible now. Sudden developments in business may help you to chalk out strategies to boost your finances considerably. This is a good time for concluding important business negotiations on terms that are acceptable and beneficial to all parties concerned.

Venus squares Neptune on May 20, 2008; Jupiter sextiles Uranus on May 21st, 2008

This is a period when relationship matters should be approached with more care. Promiscuous behaviour and irresponsible flirtations might affect harmony of settle relationships. Financial matters should also be handled more carefully. Rash speculations fired by unqualified greed and egoistic financial decisions might prove very damaging to financial prospects. However, if you have planned your moves carefully, this could be the right time to give the final blow to outwit your opponents in business and steal the thunder right before their eyes.

Mercury and Neptune turn retrograde on 26th May 2008

Matters related to export business, overseas travel, and businesses concerning oil/ show-biz should be dealt with more caution and care. Nothing should be taken for granted in these matters as sudden jolts might be expected in these sectors. It is best to be extremely cautious in business matters and if possible, to avoid new ventures completely during this period. Relationship matters also continue to be under sensitive planetary influence

Dasha System

Dasha System

The Dasha System helps in analysing the problems and tells us as to when good or bad effects as reflected in the Birth Chart are to be experienced by the native. When the timings of benefic planets are in operation the native is blessed with all possible good events and enjoys powers and privileges. But when timings of malefic's planets are in operation evil results are experienced resulting in struggles, Strife's and sufferings.

The cycle of fortune and misfortune can be calculated and timed accordingly from the position of planets in the Birth Chart. These timings of good or bad events are known as Planetary operating periods or are called Mahadasha or Major periods. These major periods are subject to sub-divided periods known as Antar Dasha. Pratyantar Dasha. Sooksham Dasha and Prana Dasha which can be calculated up to hours, minutes, seconds and swara also. This becomes the basis of predictions in Hindu Astrology. Western Astrology does not have such a system. They do it by the movement of Sun and progression method.

Span of life is taken as 120 years and is distributed amongst nine planets.

HOW DASHA STARTS

There are 27 Nakshtras - Each planet rules a group of 3 Nakshtras. The Moon at the time of birth will be passing through these Nakshtras. The first Dasha will be of the planet which is the ruler of the Nakshtra through which the Moon is passing at the time of birth. The rest in the regular order (Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury)

The text says that persons form between New Moon and the Full Moon or in Shukla Paksha should follow Vimshottri Dasa and those born in Krishna Paksha should follow Ashtottri Dasa. Thinkers are of the view that Vimshottari Dasa is supreme and recom- mended to be followed irrespective of the position of Moon.

DASHA PERIODS

Calculations - process
Calculations of sub periods.

Good/Bad results expected from a planet during its Major Period and Sub Periods depends on:

a) The House, the planet owns; (own sign)
b) The house, the planet is posted in;
c) The Rashi (sign), where planet is posted.

Personality of Aishwarya RAI (extract)
Introduction
Here are some character traits from Aishwarya RAI's birth chart. This description is far from complete but can shed light on his/her personality which is still interesting for the professionals or lovers of astrology.

N.B.: The birth time is unknown, so the chart is drawn for 12 pm - the legal time of his/her birth place; the astrological houses are not taken into account, this extract of astrological profile is therefore less detailed than the ones with a known birth time.

The dominant planets of Aishwarya RAI
When interpreting a birth chart, the best method is to start gradually from the general features to the specific ones. Thus, there is usually a plan to follow; from the global analysis of the chart and its structure, to the description of the different character traits.

Firstly, the global analysis of the chart enables us to define the main personality features and emphasize some points that are confirmed or not in the detailed analysis : be that as it may, those general traits will have to be taken into account. A human personality is an infinitely complex entity to describe and wanting to sum it up in a short way is illusory, but that does not mean it's an impossible challenge. Reading a birth chart several times is essential in order to soak up the different meanings and to grasp all this complexity. But the game is worth the candle.

The birth chart is diagrammatically composed of ten planets : two luminars, Sun and Moon, three fast moving or individual planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars, two slow moving planets, Jupiter and Saturn, and three very slow moving planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Other parts of the charts are : the secondary elements ( Lunar Nodes, the Dark Moon or Lilith, Chiron and other asteroids such as Vesta, Pallas, Ceres or Juno, particular bodies like the Arabic Parts, Vertex, the Black Sun, hypothetical planets, etc.) and 12 astrological houses, all positioned in a zodiac consisting of 12 signs from Aries to Pisces.

The importance of each planet must at first be estimated, that's what we call the search for the dominant planets. This search obeys rules that depend on the astrologer's sensitivity and experience but they also have a strong and clear basis : thus, we can take into account the parameters of a planet activity (the number of active aspects concerning a planet, the importance of each aspect depending on its nature and its accuracy), the parameters of angularity (the proximity to the 4 angles, Ascendant, Midheaven, Descendant and Immum Coeli or Nadir, all of this evaluated numerically according to the nature of the angle and the space between the latter and the planet) and the parameters of quality ( rulership, exaltation, exile and fall). Finally, other criterias such as the rulership of the Ascendant and the Midheaven etc are important.

This different criteria allows some planets to be valorised and leads to useful conclusions when interpreting the chart.

The global analysis of the chart begins by observing 3 planet distributions in the map :Eastern or Western hemisphere, Northern or Southern hemisphere, and quadrants (North-eastern, North-western, South-eastern and South-western). These 3 distributions give a general tone in terms of introversion and extraversion, of willpower and sociability and of certain behavioural predispositions.

We then have 3 other distributions : the elements (called triplicity since there are 3 groups of signs for each one) - Fire, Air, Earth and Water - corresponding to a character typology, modality (or quadruplicity with 4 groups of signs for each one) - Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable - and polarity (Yin and Yang).

There are then 3 types of dominants :dominant planets, dominant signs and dominant houses. The novice thinks astrology just means "to be Aries" or sometimes, for example, "to be Aries Ascendant Virgo". It is actually far more complex. The Sun and the Ascendant themselves alone can indeed reveal a big part of the character- between around 30 and 60% according to the chart, however a person is neither "just the Sun" (what is called the sign) nor just "the first house" (the Ascendant). Thus, the influence of a particular planet can be greatly increased; a particular sign or house can contain a group of planets that will bring nuances and sometimes weaken the role of the Ascendant, the Sun sign etc.

Lastly, two other criteria; the accentuations (angular, succedent and cadent) which are a classification of the astrological houses and the types of decans that are occupied (each sign is divided into three decans of 10° each), will add some informations in this first general part.

These eleven (or six if the birth time is unknown) general character traits must not be taken literally; they are, in a way, preparing for the reading of the chart. They allow an understanding of the second part of the analysis which is more detailed and accurate and focuses on each personality aspects by establishing a hierarchy of planets, signs, houses and aspects.

Warning: When the birth time is unknown, which is the case for Aishwarya RAI, a certain number of paragraphs cannot be dealt; the distributions in hemispheres and quadrants are meaningless, so are the dominant houses and the houses accentuations. Therefore, some chapters are removed from this part.

For all paragraphs, the criteria for valorisation are calculated without the angles, the rulership of the Ascendant and the Midheaven. The calculation method is still valid, but it is less precise without the birth time.

Elements, modalities and polarities for Aishwarya RAI
Aishwarya RAI, here is the graph of your Elements, Modalities and Polarities, and Decans, made up according to the presence of planets and angles in the 12 signs:

Aishwarya RAI, The Fire is dominant in your birth chart and makes you intuitive, energetic, courageous, self-confident and enthusiastic! You are passionately inclined and are able to assert your willpower, to go forward and ride against the tide, to reach your goals and your dreams. The relative weakness of this element is a kind of boldness and rashness that sometimes makes it difficult for you to stand back.

The predominance of Water signs indicates a high sensitivity and an elevation of sentiment, Aishwarya RAI. Your heart and your emotions are your driving forces and you can't do anything on this Earth if you don't fully feel an affective charge (as a matter of fact the word "feeling" is essential in your psychology). Action and comprehension cannot be achieved if you don't love or feel anything and sometimes, to the detriment of your vulnerability you should learn to fight.

The 12 zodiac signs are split up into three groups or modes, called quadruplicities, a clever name that simply means these three groups contain four signs. The Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable modes are more or less represented in your birth chart, according to the presence and importance of the planets and angles in the twelve signs.

The Cardinal mode is dominant here and is indicative of a predisposition for action, and more exactly for impulsion and ability to undertake: you set your heart on starting the plans you have in mind, on getting things going, on creating them. This is the most important aspect that inspires enthusiasm and adrenalin in you, without which you can grow weary rapidly. You are rather individualistic (maybe too much?) and confident and let others consolidate and then make happen the constructions you have built with fervour.

The twelve signs are divided into two polarities, called active or passive, or sometimes masculine and feminine, positive and negative, Yang and Yin. This classification corresponds to two quite distinct tonalities, the first one bringing extraversion, action, confidence and dynamism, the second one, introversion, reactivity, reflection and carefulness. One is not superior to the other, each group has its own assets and shortcomings. The odd signs - Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius - belong to the first group, whereas the even signs - Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces - belong to the second one.

According to the disposition and qualities of your planets and angles, you're rather influenced by the YANG energy, the active polarity: more concerned by your actions than reflection, you sometimes rush without standing back and favouring depth which is yet necessary. However, your spontaneity prompts you to take fresh starts, even after repeated failures caused by your rashness.

Each sign contains 30 degrees and can be divided into three equal parts: the decans. Tradition indicates that some meanings can be associated to these three decans. Their sphere of activity is usually limited to the Sun sign, it is however even more interesting to observe the distribution of all the planets in the chart to get an idea of the respective importance of the three decans which can complement the description of the personality.

These significances must be taken into account with the greatest caution, this is indeed all about minor characteristics that can only stress other outstanding traits of character.

Traditionally, the first decan accentuates the characteristics of the sign when a planet is located in it. The two other decans correspond to sub-dominant planets depending on the nature of each sign. This system leads to a multiplication of meanings and it is impossible to have a clear understanding: we prefer to give here just the meaning of one decan in comparison with the other two, in the birth chart as a whole. Again, the greatest caution is needed with regard to this minor indication which is not always reliable.

The first decan, that's to say the part between 0 and 10° of the zodiac signs, is the majority in your birth chart: this decan is traditionally linked to vitality and physical constitution and possibly means you efficiently express your concrete energy on material and sensual matters.

Dominants: planets, signs and houses for Aishwarya RAI
The issue with the dominant planets has existed since the mists of time in astrology : how pleasant it would be to describe a person in some words by one or several planets simply representing their character without having to analyse all the aspects such as rulerships, angularities, houses etc !

The 10 planets - from the Sun to Pluto - are a bit like 10 characters from a role play, each one with its own personality, its own way of acting, its own strengths and weaknesses. They actually represent a classification in 10 distinct personalities and astrologers have always tried to associate one or several dominant planets to a birth chart as well as dominant signs and houses.

Indeed, it is somewhat the same with the signs and the houses. If the planets symbolize characters, the signs represent "colourations"- the mental, emotional and physical structures of an individual. Each planet in sign is like a character whose features would be modified according to the place he lives. In a chart, there are usually one, two or three significant signs making it easier to rapidly describe its owner.

As for the astrological houses, the idea is even simpler: the 12 houses correspond to 12 fields of life and the planets occupying some of them will increase their importance and bring out some spheres of life : is it marriage ? work ? social life ? etc.

In your birth chart, Aishwarya RAI, the 10 main planets are distributed in the following way:

The three most important planets in your chart are Mars, Jupiter and Pluto.

Mars is one of your dominant planets and provides you with its effective energy and enthusiasm: with a powerful Mars in your chart, action - but also the will and ability to act - is not a vain word for you. You are active, dynamic, willing to fight, courageous and beating every obstacle in your path does not scare you. Although risks are part of the adventures that you start with determination.

However, your patience is not always up to your boldness and a kind of febrility or even anger can tarnish the quality of your achievements. That would be a pity since the Marsian is a champion in matters of efficiency! Mars symbolizes the display of action, the spirit of conquest that favours discipline and order - beware of not being fussy - and lies at the frontier between action and brutality, between conquest and a potential aggressiveness.

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, organisation, power and benevolence, is quite pronounced in your chart. Like any Jupiterian, you are warm, open, sociable, consensual and active. Optimistic, you can use your self-confidence to erase differences of opinions and leave the specialists the task of analysing and perfecting things. Your role, and you have known it since a young age, is to gather, to show your spirit of synthesis and conciliation and to naturally reap fruits of it - power.

You appreciate legality, social order but also order in general. With you as a leader, every plan or human entity can be organised and structured. You excel at supervising. The Jupitarian type is indeed the politician per excellence and a positive Jupiter in a chart is synonymous of a good integration into society, whatever the chosen path.

Is this idyllic picture really shadow less? Obviously not: each typology of planet has its own weaknesses. One of yours is pride, like the Solarian, but your will of expansion at all costs can generate a form of exaggeration for everything, endless pleasure, inappropriate confidence that could attract you to rough materialism, the thirst for an absurd material comfort - in the worst case naturally.

With Pluto as a dominant planet in your chart, you are a kind of a magnetic and powerful predator, rather like the Scorpio sign ruled by this planet, who needs to exert pressure on others in order to "test" them. You're always ready to evolve, to risk destruction for reconstruction - including your own -, to live more intensely whilst imposing your secret authority on things and people that you come across in your life.

You can pass for wicked, cruel or too bossy but you actually just follow your instinct, you sound people out and like to exert your domination simply because your vital energy is too powerful to stay inside. You're a passionately inclined being with hidden motivations. You are often misunderstood but one of your great Plutonian assets is to go successfully through each life ordeal with an ever growing strength.

In your birth chart, the three most important signs - according to criteria mentioned above - are in order Scorpio, Aries and Sagittarius. Generally, these signs are important because your Ascendant or Sun is located in them. But this is not always the case: a pile of planets can be located in them, or a planet near an angle other than the Midheaven or Ascendant, when it's not simply because two or three planets are very active by the numerous aspects they make from these signs.

You will thus borrow some of the characteristics of these three signs, a bit like a superposition of features on the rest of your chart, and this all the more if the sign is valorised.

Scorpio makes up part of your dominant signs which makes you a strong and astute person who is complicated and passionate, sometimes destructive and intolerant, but strong-willed, tough and daring, sometimes bordering on aggressive. So many qualities and dangers combined in the same person! Obviously, this often ends up with a natural selection of people around you: those who stand up to you or admire you and those who can't bear you anymore! But that's precisely what you want. You are what you are and you won't transform yourself just to please. You are too proud and confrontation never scares you although your way of fighting is secret, as is your nature that you mysteriously balk at revealing to those around you who will never understand you. That said... what a hellish charm you have!

Arian blood runs through your veins! You hold that enthusiasm, frankness, courage and fastness which usually makes you so likeable in spite of your somewhat rough, naive or violent side. Furthermore, the Aries leaping fire will always give you the impulsion to make new starts if you were ever mistaken or underwent important difficulties in your life!

Sagittarius, an adventurous and conquering fire sign, is dominant in your chart: you are enthusiastic, undertaking, optimistic, very sociable and mobile - you have itchy feet both physically and mentally. Nobody is bored with you because you're always planning things and suggesting excursions, at least... when you're there and not already on a trip! Evidently, so much thrill in one woman can scare people off and some could even blame this on your brutality or tendency to loose your temper, but you're so warm and genuine, so expansive, isn't this a good thing? And all the more so since your sense of humour is overwhelming.
